general rules
- The amount of children your Sim has is determined in each generation’s rules
- Any lifespan; Normal is recommended. I use the MCCommand Center mod to edit Normal Lifespan by 1.5x
- You can purchase traits & potions with aspiration points as you wish (no Potion of Youth)
- Your Sim can live anywhere that makes sense for your story, unless the rules state otherwise.
- Your heir can be any gender/non-binary and any orientation.
- Your Sim can have any partner they choose, unless the rules state otherwise.
- Try to avoid using money cheats, but get creative if your story calls for it
- Dress your Sims & their house with their respective colors. Think of it from the perspective that they REALLY like their specific assigned color. Hair color optional.
- If you have MCCommand Center with MC WooHoo:Â Turning on No-Strings Woo-Hoo and adding Risky WooHoo percentages and enabling Teenage Pregnancy can add a lot of crazy drama. I use 20% for Teens, 15% for Young Adults, 10% for Adults.
- Seasons Expansion:Â I suggest using the two-week season length setting under Gameplay Settings in your regular Sims 4 Menu.

dice instructions
The premise of dice rolls is that I want to encourage you to add drama to your game! If you think it could be fun to see what your Sim may or may not do in a situation, roll the dice! It can be so fun to see your Sim completely spiral into madness or stumble into the perfect life.
- For this challenge, you can use Google’s Dice Roller, real-life dice, or even just a single coin. I personally roll three 6-sided dice as different scenarios and moods arise. I love rolling the three dice separately because it adds suspense. However, you can just flip a coin if you choose. Throughout the rules I refer to dice, but keep in mind that it is acceptable to use a coin or single die instead.
- The dice will decide your fate out of many scenarios.
- Consider rolling for any dialogue boxes that pop up, such as parenting options from the Parenthood Game Pack, or trait discoveries from the Growing Together Expansion, etc. If your Sim absolutely would or would not do something a dialogue box suggests, it is okay to select an option.
- When rolling the dice, pick two outcomes in a moment where your Sim has to make a choice. The majority of three rolls being even numbers is outcome A, while the majority of three rolls being odd numbers is outcome B. Keep in mind: not all outcomes of a certain situation are necessarily going to be negative or positive, but the dice can help you imagine what your Sim would do in a certain situation. I’ve added suggestions and ideas below, including a video (coming soon).
- If they die, add your ghost Sim back to the household and keep chipping away at their goals. If they don’t have a child yet, you can adopt one.
- Life and Death Expansion Rule:Â If your Sim is able to Rebirth after you had completed the six tiers of their Soul's Journey while they were alive, you can be reborn wherever you wish and restart the generation as a new Sim.

dice scenario examples
Remember: these are just examples to give you an idea of how dice work!
- For events such as (but not limited to) fires, freezing to death, drowning, meteor events, etc., roll dice to see if you can help your Sim. If the majority of three rolls are even numbers, you can intervene. If the majority of three rolls are odd numbers, you must sit there and watch to see what happens. It’s scary, but so fun!
- Roll dice for in-game pop ups such as marrying for money, chance to lose jobs, invitations and more. The idea is to ask yourself, “What would this Sim do?” If it’s not an absolute yes or no according to the way your Sim is, let the dice decide situations for you!
- ZEF WILL BE MAKING A VIDEO TO SHOW SOME DICE ROLL EXAMPLES
- A sim you know texts you to go on a date but you already have a partner. For instance, ask yourself: “Would my Sim cheat?” If they wouldn’t, ignore the prompt… If there is a chance they might be tempted, give it a roll!
- A friend of your two Sims shows up. One of your Sims is having an affair. Ask questions like: “Is this Sim a good friend? Are they here to tell my Sim that their partner is cheating, or privately confront the cheater to stop? Or would they say nothing?” Roll the dice.
- Pay attention to your Sim’s whims above their portrait. Are they thinking of their ex? Do they want to propose? Do they want to become enemies with someone? Lean into those!
- Pick any Likes/Dislikes in Create-a-Sim you think each generation may have based on each generation’s rules and guidelines. For additional Likes/Dislikes you think may be fun to add, roll the dice! The majority of rolls being even numbers means they like something. If all three rolls are odd numbers, make it a dislike. Do this for any friends or partners as well.
- Lovestruck Expansion Rule: Similarly, roll dice for attraction aspects in Create-a-Sim for your Sims, and potential partners. Majority of rolls being even numbers means they are attracted to Sims with that aspect. If all three rolls are odd numbers, it is an unattractive thing.
đź’ˇTIP: It is best if all three rolls are odd numbers for you to make it an unattractive/disliked thing. Otherwise, your Sim may think too many things are unattractive/disliked.

choosing an heir, inheritance + moving
- HEIR: To choose an heir, choose your favorite one that makes sense for the story. Some people just pick the firstborn, others choose differently.
- Age up kids on their birthday or whenever you feel it makes sense for your story. If you finish with one generation but the next heir is not ready to move yet, you can shift gameplay focus to playing the next heir and complete collections, tasks and other things while still living with their parents if you don’t want to age them up or move them out right away.
💡 IDEA: Your next heir has a ruleset that suggests they are a perfectionist who loves art. Choose the heir based on which Sim you may feel fits that storyline.

- MOVING: Not all Sims have to move out of their current house when you need to move on to the next generation. Decide what makes sense for your Sim’s family dynamic!

- INHERITANCE: For inheritance, I suggest thinking about the relationship of the parents/grandparents to the heir. Is it healthy? Spiteful or full of hate? You can do something like pick a random percentage based on how their relationship is and take a percentage of the parent’s money, or just select a random number between X and X of their current total household funds. If the parent relationship is toxic or if the parents are broke, they may get nothing.
- Life and Death Expansion Rules:Â Use Wills. Consider their relationship. If you're not sure, roll a 6-sided dice. Your Sim can get 20/40/60/80/100% of Simoleons passed down to them. 1 gets you nothing, 2 gets you 20%, 3 gets you 40%, 4 gets 60%, 5 gets you 80%, and 6 gets you 100%.
💡 IDEA: Your Sim is getting kicked out of their parent’s house. Would one of the parents slip them a little money or would they leave with nothing? Roll dice or use a random number generator to see how much! Get creative

- GIFTS: Would your Sim’s Grandparents/Parents give a gift of Simoleons for graduating or having a baby? Might they give you a new stove for buying your first house?
